Better is looking for a Jira Administrator to support our rapid growth. This person will report to and work strategically with IT leadership. They will help Better to maintain and improve our growing Atlassian environment, and take ownership of all Atlassian related projects. The ideal candidate is a technical person who can balance day-to-day operations and larger project work.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating Atlassian Cloud, Jira, Jira Service Desk, and Confluence.
  • Leading all aspects of the Atlassian tool chain including workflows, custom fields, schemes, add-ons and integrations.
  • Ensuring system availability of Atlassian tools based on defined SLAs.
  • Developing metrics dashboards, heatmaps, reports to provide development teams and senior leadership with meaningful operational/performance metrics and status reports.
  • Collaborating with partners requesting Jira project changes to provide effective solutions which meet their requirements.
  • Adhering to Jira best practices and maintaining consistency across our instance.
  • Using JIRA REST APIs for integration with other tools like Slack, Monday.com, github and Integration/Automation frameworks.
  • Improving return on investment by handling licensing and Atlassian spend.

About You:

  • 5+ years of JIRA administration experience, supporting large enterprise environments
  • Have led implementation and owned all aspects of an Atlassian environment
  • Proficient in ScriptRunner / Groovy / JQL and PowerScripts
  • Proven track record with Atlassian installations, migrations and upgrades
  • Advocate for process efficiency and consistency
  • Can provide creative solutions for process problems that align with Jira standard methodologies
  • Have worked in other high growth environments
  • Understand current core business processes and existing technical solutions
  • Able to lead focused Jira and process discussions with a variety of organization members
  • Able to write user facing documentation and lead trainings
  • Preference for those who have worked with global IT teams in the past
