Miso Robotics is transforming the restaurant industry and making a real impact on the world. We've developed a robotic kitchen assistant, Flippy, that can perform a variety of kitchen tasks including flipping burgers and running the deep fryer. Our product is a robotic arm on a rail that fits into existing kitchens along existing cook lines and is designed to work with existing equipment alongside kitchen workers. Under the hood, Flippy relies on our platform which combines deep learning and other computer vision technologies with optimization-based scheduling and nonlinear control to adapt quickly to a variety of kitchen workflows, while achieving graceful and efficient motion.

The Role

As a Director of Infrastructure, you will be responsible for designing and developing our kitchen data model and cloud-connected infrastructure which powers our products. You're a hands-on technical leader that works with our robot engineers and outside contractors to build and maintain the infrastructure that enables our business. You will focus on systems-level thinking and allocate resources appropriately to support our products and users as well as develop the next set of tools needed to grow at scale. 

What You’ll Do

• Develop and implement strategy as it relates to the organization's IT infrastructure
• Provide leadership and management to evaluate and implement projects and plans that result in increased organizational efficiencies across all of Information and Data needs
• Lead Infrastructure software engineering and support resource allocations, schedules, and budget.
• Manage our 24/7 IT support for both products and people.
• Build, grow, and mentor a team of exceptional machine learning engineers, software engineers, and technical leaders.
• Iterate quickly without compromising quality and raise the bar on operational excellence
• Influence key decisions on architecture and implementation of scalable, reliable, and cost-effective engineering

Requirements

• MS or BS in a technical field such as Computer Science, Data Science or equivalent experience
• Minimum 6+ years of experience managing a team of 10+ engineers and experience with managing managers and cross-functional dependencies
• Extensive experience (5+ years) working with applied machine learning problems in the domains of computer vision, content understanding, process controls, or related fields
• Track record of building, growing, and mentoring high performing large teams
• Knowledge of: Linux, AWS, SQL, DevOps, Cybersecurity, ITIL

Preferred Requirements

• Experience with managing customer journeys or other agile, iterative, and growth-driven product development
• Track record of building new or hyper-growth Growth teams impacting hundreds of users
• Track record of delivery in rapidly changing, highly collaborative, multi-site, multi-stakeholder environments
• Experience with complex system development
• Intermediate level knowledge of NIST security frameworks, HIPAA, PCI, GDPR data privacy regulations
• Experience with large scale consumer-facing platforms
• Relevant experience with data science 
• Have a passion to learn new things, develop people, and make a business impact at a very large scale
• Must be able to work at our HQ location in Pasadena, CA.
