Summary:

It's a once in a lifetime opportunity – being part of the US team responsible for developing and implementing media campaigns for Facebook (e.g. Facebook Groups, Instagram, Oculus, WhatsApp, etc.). You will take part in digital planning and buying for Mindshare's US dedicated Facebook team located at Mindshare Los Angeles.

With 116 offices across 86 different countries, each Mindshare office is unique. While this role is based in Los Angeles, it works closely with the Facebook teams in Portland and San Francisco. Irrespective of office, we're all bound by a few things that remain important: strategic vision, an understanding of the fundamentals, an eye for innovation, curiosity, and passion.

We were appointed to the global Facebook account in 2014 and have grown quickly ever since. The US market is the largest market in the Facebook portfolio and it continues to grow – in this position, you will be fully dedicated to the brand, building both your skills as well as supporting one of the most high profile brands in the world.

The Associate Director will report into a Managing Director

Department – Digital Investment:

Our Digital Investment teams are critical in bringing our media plans to life. We work in conjunction with our planning teams and are responsible for the negotiating and purchasing of digital media real estate. We are an integral part of capturing a client's vision to reach the intended audience.


Tasks:

  • Day to day digital account lead, working with Managing Director to manage the team and ensure all projects and campaigns are progressing appropriately
  • Oversee the development, execution, and reporting of digital media plans, in partnership with programmatic, search, and social teams
  • Drive innovation and new ways of thinking into media plans
  • Cultivate close relationships with mid/senior-level Facebook clients and colleagues at partner agencies
  • Manage and nurture team members (Sr. Associates & Associates), supporting career path, development plans, helping through day to day challenges, and ensuring they progress in their roles/careers
  • Active participant in client meetings, whether through media plan presentations or educational opportunities
  • Support Managing Director in hiring and team scouting, as the team continues to grow
  • Collaborate with GroupM investment leads and joint business partners on test and learns and beta opportunities for clients

 

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Expect 6-8 years of media experience
  • Advanced level of IT skills including all Microsoft Office (Powerpoint, Excel), G-suite
  • Awareness and understanding of research tools, syndicated services, and publicly available data.
  • Up to date knowledge of media owners, content owners, production agencies, research companies and other suppliers which we could partner with.
  • General knowledge of social media or tech sector.
  • Excellent analytical, written, verbal, and numerical skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, multi-tasking capabilities, and detail-oriented nature
  • Experience with digital tools such as ComScore, DCM, Nielsen, DoubleVerify, Prisma, etc.
  • Familiar with social media buying and implementation on Facebook including an understanding of key technologies used is helpful, but not required
  • Prior experience with any of the following: Technology, Social Media, eCommerce/Retail
