About the VP, Global Marketing at Headspace:

Headspace has experienced success around the world with over 50 million people downloading the app since launching in 2010. Headspace is focused on accelerating this rapid growth to deliver on our vision of improving the Health & Happiness of the world. 

As VP of Marketing, you will be responsible for all of our Acquisition, Conversion, and Lifecycle efforts. You will have a bias towards experimentation and innovation to continue to identify new acquisition channels and audiences, while optimizing conversion and retention. You will be responsible for unlocking growth in our core markets and in our global expansion markets. You will be in charge of leading the marketing vision, strategies and teams necessary to accomplish our goals. You will report directly into the Chief Media Officer. 

To excel in this role you must have an excellent understanding of how to scale the entire marketing function of a global consumer business, including effectively managing a P&L. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in all facets of marketing -- user acquisition across diverse channels, brand marketing, conversion and lifecycle campaigns, PR, and product marketing. You must be a smart creative who has the analytical rigor to understand and optimize each stage of the funnel while appreciating the nuance and impact of brand equity. You obsess over things like CAC, SAC, and LTV. In addition, you must be an inspirational leader who can grow and maximize the output of a world class team.

  • Create, communicate and execute a compelling growth strategy to establish Headspace as the category defining leader in health and happiness. 
  • Grow, manage and mentor a talented, cross-functional marketing team responsible for acquisition, conversion, and retention.
  • Expand our marketing mix into new channels online and offline to drive awareness and to unlock new audiences. 
  • Define the marketing segmentation, data, operations strategy and tech stack that enables us to strategically grow our member base using a blend of brand and direct response strategies.
  • Work closely with product, brand, and engineering to align and execute pricing, packaging, and promotional strategies. 
  • Manage all PR endeavors at Headspace. 

What you’ve accomplished:

  • 10+ years of experience in direct-to-consumer marketing for digital companies, including breadth and depth in performance marketing, media planning, product marketing, PR, and CRM.
  • Demonstrated success scaling a marketing team across all functions and creating the systems and processes for setting strategy, planning and ongoing execution.
  •  Proven talent management experience with ability to attract, cultivate, and retain top performers in a world-class marketing operations organization.
  • Strong collaborator at the leadership level while also being comfortable doing the day to day blocking and tackling work required to scale the organization.
  • Tech-savvy and up-to-date on all marketing tools, platforms and resources with a focus on subscription businesses.

  • Curious - you are hyper-focused on data quality and are data driven, you are always looking beyond the easy answer to find new ways to attract and retain customers.

  • Process oriented - the agile methodology second nature, you set clear goals and know how to get a team to iterate towards success.
  • Collaborative - you know that the best solutions come from team efforts not from individual genius.

We're located in the heart of Santa Monica on Michigan + Cloverfield, just off the 10 freeway. Bergamont train station is right behind our office.
