Ring is looking for an experienced Senior Social Content Editor to publish engaging content for its social media channels and manage the content calendar across all platforms (including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram). The successful candidate will be responsible for brand advocacy and user education, adoption of new content mediums, and user growth & engagement on social media.

In this position, the Social Media Editor will report directly to the Director of Social Communications, and work cross-functionally with the video, graphics, PR and content teams to publish meaningful content for social media. You will own all organic social efforts, and work with the paid social team to implement paid media strategies to boost brand reach and conversion. You will work with key social media and digital platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube, as well as seek out and develop new and emerging platforms that can help us grow our customer base and brand.

Responsibilities

  • Own the day-to-day content calendar for Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, including but not limited to:
  • · Draft & post 1–2 pieces of content to each social media channel daily
  • · Work with the content, PR and video teams to surface relevant content to share on social media
  • · Monitor content performance and compiling weekly & monthly performance reports
  • · Keep our content strategy up to date per channel
  • · Work with mass marketing on budget for boosting posts
  • Work with the Director of Social Media & mass marketing team to determine social media launch strategy for new products
  • · Draft & produce content for new product launches, special events, holidays, & etc
  • · Align content strategy with global social media teams on a consistent basis and share resources where available
  • · Use social listening tools to engage social media users in meaningful conversations around Ring, and share relevant user content such as tweets and IG stories
  • · Explore new social media channels and content formats as they come up (e.g. IGTV)
  • · Lead & expand our content strategy with new content formats and categories
  • · Brainstorm & lead creative content strategies for major events like Mother’s Day, Halloween, Christmas, etc
  • · Work with the mass marketing team to scale organic social media programs, or identify paid opportunities on social media that can help us acquire new households
  • · On-board new tools and agencies where necessary
  • · Keep our social media guide updated

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience working in social media, preferably within a consumer tech company.
  • 2+ years of experience creating or publishing content for social media across a wide range of mediums and platforms, such as Facebook videos, Twitter GIFs, and Instagram Stories.
  • Undergraduate degree in Communications, Marketing, Creative Writing, or the equivalent in related work experience required.
  • Deep understanding of all social media platforms and their latest trends, both as a content creator and a content consumer.
  • Strong writing, editing and communications skills, with knowledge of PR best practices.
  • Deep knowledge about the social media landscape in the US. The candidate should be able to discuss recent changes in social media platforms and how it affects brands, who the social movers and shakers are within the home tech space, and have an opinion on what content strategies would work for Ring’s audience on each platform.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior project management skills and attention to detail, with a demonstrable ability to juggle multiple projects at the same time.
  • Knowledge of native social media content planning & reporting tools like Facebook Ad Manager, Instagram Insights, and Twitter Analytics.
  • Strong preference to operate with significant autonomy, with the proven ability to make quick, high-level decisions that’s grounded in rationale and data.
  • Cross-discipline experience in PR, digital advertising, social media customer care, and visual design is highly valued but not necessary.
