Project A is Riot’s take on a character-based tactical shooter. (for more info on Project A click here!) As a Communications Associate, you will join the central marketing team to develop communications and content strategy for Project A the game and brand. You will act as a trusted consultant for the development team as they engage with players around the world, deploying your encyclopedic knowledge of shooter communities, social platforms, and upcoming cultural trends. You will craft nuanced messages and communications plans to explain the decisions made in Project A, helping cultivate a global community of advocates. You will report to the Communications Lead of the project.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop holistic communications plans that address not just current issues, but potential bumps down the road; you’ll collaborate with devs across the team to ensure we’re always looking at the big picture
  • Keep on the pulse of Project A and competitive shooter communities around the world to ensure our communications, marketing, and content are resonant and authentic
  • Be consistently re-evaluating our communication tools, methods, channels, and content that can be fine-tuned to hit better goals, and then pilot plans to get us there
  • Author nuanced, community-oriented content for Project A, including editorial brand development, social content, product marketing, and change communications
  • Support the broader communications team on PR, influencer, social, community, and event marketing activations, acting as a secondary support for all communications and community disciplines

Required Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience contributing to a major feature, game, product launch, or announcement in craft or strategy
  • At least 3+ years writing external communications for a brand or product
  • Demonstrable experience working with multiple international social media platforms, including Reddit, Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, etc

Desired Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of pop culture or non-gaming industries, their social media practices, and engagement strategies
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current and upcoming social media trends and platforms
  • A holistic understanding of communications crafts and disciplines, including PR, influencer management, social media marketing, and community management
  • Deep knowledge of shooter communities and how to engage on public forums
