Overview

As a Senior Manager of Marketing Operations, you will help drive LegalZoom's growth by operationalizing marketing initiatives via technology. You are a professional assigned with the critical tasks of facilitating cross-departmental alignment on prioritization of a technical backlog against the marketing organization's roadmap, technical program/product management of marketing initiatives, and developing strategies to better utilize the capabilities of our non-CRM MarTech platforms. This role will manage a direct report dedicated to executing technical requests outside of the dev process (CMS utilization, site search optimization, etc.), help manage vendor relationships, and will work closely with both the Tech the Product Management organizations.

The ideal candidate must have excellent program/project management skills with the ability to translate marketing needs into technical requirements (including story writing and documentation) and manage stakeholder expectations. You are organized, strategic, analytical, and detail-oriented with strong communication, relationship building, and management skills. This role requires a track record of cross-functional leadership, creative problem solving through data, and an interest in innovation. Reporting to the Director, Testing and Operations, you are a key figure in bringing the marketing vision and strategy to life.

You will

  • Be knowledgeable of overall marketing/sales org goals to more effectively operationalize against roadmaps through prioritization
  • Function as a liaison between marketing, technology, and product
  • Proactively problem solve by analyzing funnel and channel data to make performance improvement proposals
  • Assist in defining strategic priorities and long-term strategy by developing a strong understanding of competition, market trends, and dynamics
  • Program/project manage large marketing initiatives, including the creation and maintenance of requirements documentation and work-back plans
  • Actively maintain vendor relationships for non-CRM platforms
  • Hire and manage a direct report dedicated to technical execution outside of the dev workflow (working within CMS, pixel maintenance, etc.)
  • Contribute to the evolution and growth of this new function

You have

  • Bachelor's degree; MBA preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role at a technology company (bonus for prior product strategy, planning, MarTech, or operations experience)
  • Experience using, implementing, and/or optimizing utilization of various marketing platforms to enhance marketing strategy: CMS (Drupal), analytics (Google Analytics, Amplitude, Heap), tag management (Tealium IQ, GTM), CDP (Tealium Audiencestream, Segment), testing/experimentation (Optimizely, Target), site search (Algolia), ratings & reviews (Bazaarvoice), call tracking (Invoca), session replay/behavioral monitoring tools (Quantum Metrics, Full Story), etc. (or equivalent platforms)
  • The ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
  • Incredible organizational skills, with great attention to detail, focus on quality of results, and strong self of accountability
  • A data-driven mindset with proven experience utilizing metrics & insights as tools for informed decision-making
  • Experience leveraging strong problem-solving and analytical skills to transform challenging user experience and business/technology problems into actionable paths
  • The ability to succinctly present data and champion a vision/roadmap (written and verbal); comfortable presenting to senior leadership
  • A strong sense of self-motivation and thrive on collaborating with teams across the organization
  • An understanding of front end languages (HTML, CSS, Javascript)
  • Experience managing and developing talent
