Overview

The Senior Director of Content Marketing is a key leader in the LegalZoom marketing organization, driving organic growth through strategic storytelling and content creation that educates and inspires future, current, and lapsed LegalZoom customers as they navigate their lives. S/he will lead the team that develops social content, infographics, digital video content, rich media assets, and other editorial assets to use on our owned and earned channels, and as such, our ideal candidate is both creatively motivated and operationally skilled. S/he has a track record of delivering on revenue and user growth goals, and as a passionate people leader, is committed to developing a high performing team of editors, content creators, and SEO experts alike. S/he will report to the VP of Digital Media and Paid Acquisition.

You will

• Rally organization around vision for developing LegalZoom into a content destination for continued education, engagement, and conversion of future, current, and lapsed customers
• Collaborate with key stakeholders in identifying content stories that align with key macro, cultural, and business needs to drive deeper customer learning and engagement
• Partner cross-functionally with Design, Product, Lifecycle, PMM, Comms, etc. to ensure content strategies are executed with focus on brand and overarching company narrative
• Own execution of content marketing through mixture of internal team and agency partners; produce digital content spanning social, video, editorial, etc.
• Utilize expertise on changing industry, best practices, and changes in customer preferences for leadership of our SEO engine
• Lead and develop a growing team of editors, producers, and SEO experts
• Accountability for organic growth targets (revenue, customers, etc.): establish, report and improve on organic growth KPIs

Skills and Experience

• 10+ years of content marketing experience, with particular experience in leading content strategy, editorial, and production teams
• Track record of delivering on organic growth goals (revenue, user growth)
• Cross-functional leadership to influence without authority and take a vision from strategy to execution
• Strong people leadership skills, passionate about team and people development
• Ability to analyze business data trends to inform decisions that will fuel company growth
• Motivated self-starter that can drive projects and initiatives with little supervision
• Confidence in communication and presentation to all levels of organization, up to C-team
• Spirit of inquiry and curiosity
