Ring is looking for an organized, hard-working, and self-motivated full-time public relations coordinator to join our Neighbors PR team in Santa Monica. As a PR Specialist for Neighbors, you will work alongside the Neighbors PR and Communications Lead and the rest of the Neighbors PR team, as well as teams across Ring and Amazon to imagine, develop and execute PR communications strategies.

The ideal candidate will have experience pitching media and will be expected to think and act both strategically and tactically. This candidate will be able to work fast, manage multiple priorities, take ownership of community-based programs, and support communications colleagues across the entire Ring organization as needed.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal teams to drive successful Neighbors feature launches and go-to-market strategy
• Establishing and executing on community-focused initiatives for the Neighbors app
• Develop, build and maintain strong relationships with media
• Create pitches and other content to secure media
• Act as PR business partner to the Neighbors development and partnerships teams
• Develop, build and maintain strong relationships with media
• Create press releases, pitches and other content to secure media including print, broadcast and online outlets
• Successfully manage complex, fast-moving and unexpected communications challenges

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• 3+ years public relations experience, with some of that spent on technology businesses
• 3+ Experience writing and editing Press Releases
• 3+ years of experience building and managing media relationships that resulted in positive coverage

• Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Proactive mindset and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Experience supporting PR strategies for major events or companies
• Demonstrate a positive, can-do, go-the-extra-mile attitude
• Experience working with consumer technology companies or products
• Ability to exercise high judgment in narrow time-frames
• An entrepreneurial spirit, including the ability to work independently and autonomously
• Thrives in a collaborative environment and willing to roll up your sleeves to get the job done
• Ability to deliver results under tight deadlines
• An ability to work across and build relationships with multiple teams
• Excellent writing, copy editing and proofing skills
