Marketing Specialist, Paid Media (Japan) at iHerb
The role of the Marketing Specialist – Paid Media is to drive customer acquisition through paid search, display, and other performance marketing channels in the Japanese market. The individual in this role will work with the Senior Marketing Manager, Japan, to efficiently scale our existing paid media channels and expand into new local paid media channels in Japan. This position will be based at the Pasadena office.
Job Responsibilities & Expectations:
Develop, implement and manage paid search and display campaigns for Japan with the primary goal of driving new customer acquisition, and secondary goal of driving customer retention through ‘win-back’ retention campaigns
Provide analysis of paid channel campaign performance and propose actionable insights for growth and optimization
Develop and maintain effective daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly performance reporting
Conduct keyword research and translate keywords and ad copy to extend reach and drive improved performance
Research competitor landscape, market trends and make recommendations on ways to better localize iHerb’s marketing efforts
Leverage existing paid channel partner relationships to drive insights and optimization, and research and develop new paid channel partnership opportunities for assigned market
Collaborate with promotions and content teams to align promotional messaging across paid channels
Ensure brand messaging is consistent throughout paid channels

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Understanding of paid search, display and performance marketing strategies, tactics and processes
Strong understanding of paid media and associated business metrics
Comfortable performing in a fast moving, performance-driven environment
Native fluency in Japanese language
Experience using Google Workspace (Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, etc)
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of analytics platforms, especially Google Analytics
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Google AdWords
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of paid search management platforms, especially Search Ads 360
Knowledge of Asana or other task management platforms a plus
Knowledge of Yahoo! Japan search and display advertising or any other local Japanese advertising platforms a plus
Minimum of 2 years experience managing paid search or display campaigns, preferably in a mid-to-large scale ecommerce company or with an advertising agency managing similar size campaigns
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science or related field preferred, or a combination of education and equivalent work experience
Judgment/Reasoning Ability: Able to identify, troubleshoot and resolve problems quickly using sound judgment, poise and diplomacy. Ability to use judgment and reasoning skills, and determine when to escalate issues, as required, in a timely manner.
