Modern Animal is seeking a driven and communicative marketer to join us as a Growth Marketing Associate and help fuel our mission to improve the lives of pets, pet parents, and the healthcare partners who take care of them. We are a fast-growing startup backed by top-tier venture capital firms (including Founders Fund, True Ventures, and Upfront Ventures) and have an experienced entrepreneurial team from both the veterinary industry and leading companies such as Uber, Allbirds, Blue Bottle, and Sweetgreen. 

This Growth Marketing Associate role will be responsible for setting up the deployment structure for growth marketing campaigns and proactively managing consumer-facing digital properties to reach, acquire and engage new clients. You’ll bring high-impact marketing programs to life by collaborating with a team of talented marketers, designers and operators. 

The ideal candidate for this role is a strong communicator and independent executor who has an eye for detail. You must have experience launching marketing campaigns at scale that produce measurable results and working effectively with partner teams. Most importantly, you’re eager to roll up your sleeves and get things done in an energetic, fast-paced environment.

How you’ll make an impact:

• Own the deployment and maintenance of performance marketing and ad hoc email campaigns, including landing page and tracking implementation.
• Support rapid experimentation to improve the efficacy of marketing messaging and advertising spend.
• Develop creative briefs with the support from Growth Marketing Manager and coordinate creative delivery according to media specs.
• Be the voice of Modern Animal on third-party platforms such as Yelp and Google.
• Develop highly visible content such as paid media ad copy, website updates, and phone scripts.
• Refine processes and documentation of the Growth Marketing Playbook that continually raise the bar of execution across the Growth team.
• Provide cross-functional teams with clear and concise Growth Marketing updates.

You’d be a great fit:

• 2-3 years of full-time experience in digital marketing.
• Background in supporting or running performance marketing campaigns (Google Ads, Facebook Ads Manager, etc.) strongly preferred. 
• Strong marketing acumen and ability to clearly articulate thinking.
• Has a growth mindset, with an aptitude for learning.
• Ability to work efficiently, prioritize, and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Based in Los Angeles, or willing to relocate.
