As the Director, Internal Communications, you will be responsible for delivering world class messaging, programs, and internal events that inform, inspire, and recognize Daves and deepen the team’s connection to the company’s mission, values, strategy, culture and each other. Your function will play a significant role in helping Daves feel valued and an important part of the company during a time of rapid growth and while implementing our Virtual First working model.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and execute an internal communications strategy and tactics that ensure all Daves understand and are excited by our mission, company values, business strategy and key metrics and how their role and function contributes to our success
  • Work closely with the functional leads within the People Team to ensure that programs, decisions, etc. coming out of the People Team have a communication strategy and are attuned to the Dave audience
  • Evaluate our current technology strategy that supports internal communications goals and implement both proven and innovative solutions that help us achieve our goals
  • Develop a company-wide recognition strategy that highlights the individual, team and company-wide outcomes and achievements that we want to celebrate as a company
  • Develop and execute the strategy for tent-pole internal company events (e.g., Key product launches, Holiday Party, Bring Your Kids to Work Day) that build connection, morale and affiliation amongst our Daves
  • Drive CEO and executive internal, Dave-facing communications execution 
  • Work closely with the Talent Acquisition, Social Impact, Marketing, and Corporate Communications/PR teams to ensure we are communicating a compelling employer brand that is in alignment with company brand
  • Manage social channels and sites (e.g., LinkedIn, Glassdoor, BuiltIn) specifically related to recruiting and Dave’s employer brand
  • Determine how internal communications can play a key role in maintaining a consistent company culture, experience and feeling of connection in our Virtual First working model

What you'll need:

  • 10+ years of professional experience working in communications in a high-growth, fast-paced organizations, preferably in the technology industry
  • 5+ years of direct people management experience, preferably including managing managers as well as individual contributors
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or equivalent experience
  • Proven track record of building trusted advisory relationships with senior leadership of an organization
  • Experience utilizing internal communications to help develop and support company culture in a very purposeful and strategic way
  • Track record of developing creative and innovative solutions
  • Experience leveraging quantitative and qualitative data analysis to drive decision-making
  • Proven ability to adapt and quickly change direction when necessary in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Experience managing large and complex project work spread across multiple stakeholders
