Dave is a virtual-first company, which means there is no preference on where team members get their work done. For those who want to work in an office setting on a more regular basis, we will eventually open offices in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Dave is looking for a proactive, bold and collaborative Director, Corporate Communications & PR. You’ll develop and drive a comprehensive and expansive communications strategy, to build engaging narratives that will highlight and advance Dave’s Mission, products & service, and leadership in support of its members. The ideal candidate will have experience driving measurable results in a fast-paced environment and ensure that Dave’s story is properly positioned, amplified and valued in the eyes of our members, the media, investors, and other industry stakeholders.

What you'll do:

  • Develop, lead, and oversee all consumer PR efforts and campaigns
  • Prepare and present publicity and corporate communications strategies to Dave’s leadership team and implement best practices to obtain favorable coverage and maximum effectiveness
  • Create press releases, media advisories, speeches, and external communications in support of Dave’s products and business
  • Own development of messaging and relationships with media and relevant stakeholders
  • Lead multiple agency partners overseeing external communications including media relations, investor relations and crisis communications
  • Develop and manage a high performing and engaged team that is connected to our company mission and is motivated to showcase our suite of products and services
  • Further enhance and support Dave’s Executive team as Fin-tech thought leaders by identifying and securing appropriate media engagements, preparing company representatives for interviews, appearances, and special events
  • Partner with internal teams to tell a compelling corporate narrative that will help to attract world-class talent - in addition to world-class partnerships, investors and members

What you'll need:

  • 10+ years of related experience in PR/corporate communications, social media with experience in both agency and corporate environments 
  • 5+ years of direct people management experience, preferably including managing managers as well as individual contributors
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or equivalent experience
  • Proven ability to develop and execute effective consumer storytelling strategies, including brand journey, culture, value proposition and creative content
  • Ability to quickly gain expert fluency on all aspects of Dave’s business activities and priorities
  • Exceptional writing skills, including the ability to write compellingly for a wide range of audiences and needs, such as scripts, keynotes, press materials, and social media channels
  • Self-motivated and independent, with excellent prioritization, project management and critical thinking skills, a strong sense of focus, organization, and meticulous attention to detail
  • Proven ability to run and deliver results on large-scale, complex projects under tight deadlines through rigorous planning and ruthless prioritization
