As the Director, Brand Marketing, you get to work at the forefront of helping Dave realize our significant ambition and earn a disproportionate share of brand presence and cultural relevance. We are looking for a human and cultural insights driven brand marketing professional with exceptional people leadership skills who will play a significant role in helping Dave achieve our ambitious strategy. There is considerable runway and opportunity to directly impact Dave’s business in this role. Obsessed by cultural relevance, you will not rest until Dave is the most desired community-driven finance brand in America.

What you'll do:

  • Drive long term brand affinity and engagement for Dave across our target member cohorts
  • Guide the development and evolution of the Dave brand narrative across all community touch points
  • Build and nurture the community-driven operating model that unlocks organic creativity and advocacy for Dave
  • Develop the ongoing strategic and creative brand marketing briefs and cross-functional briefing and ideation process Develop the rolling calendar of Core Creative ideas that will inspire and guide cross-functional collaboration and output
  • Define strategic direction of the internal and external creative and content teams 
  • Become the creative standard bearer for all Dave output across all earned, owned and paid channels
  • Create and evolve Dave’s social media strategy, content and engagement plans
  • Oversee the longitudinal brand tracking study and ensure the data and insights are used to drive cross-functional strategy and execution across the board
  • Lead and enable a high performing, highly engaged team, ensuring all team members are clear on what is expected of them as individuals and as part of the team, know where they stand against these expectations, and have the coaching to achieve their career goals

What you'll need:

  • 10+ years brand marketing experience building world class, creatively leading, category defining brands
  • 5+ years of experience scaling and leading marketing teams
  • Highly strategic, creatively minded and results oriented marketer with a proven track record in campaign development and brand storytelling
  • Exceptional leadership and collaboration skills, and ability to build strong partnerships with cross-functional and agency partners that facilitate team success
  • Ability to extract insights from multiple data sources, and make informed decisions that balance the art and science required to build an admired and lasting brand
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills that can be adapted for audiences at all levels across the organization
  • Proven ability to adapt and quickly change direction when necessary in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
