As our Growth Marketing Manager, you will drive the way we connect with pet owners to grow Modern Animal’s active client base. Leveraging your growth marketing skills in performance marketing, SEO/ASO, and experimentation, you’ll build scalable marketing programs from the ground up that reach, convert and activate new clients.

The ideal candidate deeply understands how to leverage channels to reach new audiences and build an enduring brand, adopt a customer-obsessed approach to marketing messages, and be rigorous about learning from the data you collect and the experimental campaigns you run. You have proven experience launching high-impact marketing campaigns and working effectively with cross-functional design and engineering teams. Most importantly, you’re eager to roll up your sleeves to bring our mission to life as we grow.

This person will work from our headquarters in Culver City, CA, with flexibility for remote work during set days of the week.

What you’ll be working on:

  • Build and deliver on a robust growth and test plan across media, channels and other customer touchpoints to drive tangible, measurable outcomes
  • Own the end-to-end development and execution of ad hoc media campaigns and evergreen marketing programs to acquire new customers within performance goals
  • Develop a deep understanding of our marketing funnel and attribution and use data-driven insights to prioritize, lead, and implement growth marketing strategies to drive member conversion
  • Evolve and iterate upon the Growth Marketing launch playbook that enables robust market expansion
  • Identify and launch improvements to the Modern Animal website to drive performance results
  • Proactively build relationships cross-functionally, collaborating with design and engineering resources to ensure timely delivery and high quality execution

Why you’d be a great fit:

  • Minimum 3-4 years of relevant acquisition and growth marketing experience, preferably growing a significant mobile customer base in a startup environment
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with marketing attribution, conversion tracking, Google Analytics, and other Growth tools
  • Working knowledge of copywriting and HTML is strongly preferred
  • Deep passion for and understanding of the path to purchase and customer journey
  • Ability to work efficiently, prioritize, and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
  • Biased to action in iterative processes, willing to tackle problems hands-on and get things done
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical expertise and knowledge of SQL is a strong plus but not required
  • Based in Los Angeles, or willing to relocate.

What you can expect from us:

  • Excellent medical, vision, & dental coverage with various options to choose from
  • 401k savings plan with a company match
  • Flexible time off & paid parental leave
  • Free membership to Modern Animal for your pets and discounts on extra services
  • Free membership to One Medical for primary care
  • Access to behavioral and mental health services through Ginger
  • WFH stipends to help you set up your home office while we build out an office
  • A collaborative team who has your back and will welcome you as part of our pack

We believe an equitable and inclusive work environment and a diverse, empowered team are key to achieving our mission. We’re not looking for candidates who are “culture fits.” We’re looking for candidates who can expand our culture and challenge business as usual. We strive to foster an environment where all staff can bring their whole selves to work, by their own definition, and we strive to provide all candidates with an equitable and accessible recruitment process.

We provide equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, veteran status, or genetics.

In addition to federal law requirements, we comply with applicable state and local laws governing nondiscrimination in employment in every location in which the company has facilities.

This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment, including recruiting, hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, transfer, leaves of absence, compensation and training.
