Communications Specialist

Role Overview
InStride is looking for a Communications Specialist to help develop, coordinate and execute our external, internal and executive communications strategies. Working directly with our communications leaders, the ideal candidate is a strong writer and proactive, organized practitioner who has experience collaborating with teams to develop narratives, messages and other communication activities that support business priorities and cultivate employee engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with internal partners to launch and iterate on scalable communication programs from conceptualization to execution
- Create and deliver effective communications for multiple channels including social media, emails, slides, videos, talking points, articles, the company intranet, and Slack
- Write compelling and dynamic copy for stakeholders and create engaging assets in collaboration with the design team
- Collaborate with various teams, including the People team, to ensure transparency and consistency across the organization and help engage our fast-growing team in InStride’s mission, values & culture
- Proactively seek out the latest engagement tools and strategies to help us better connect with employees, guide their experience and incorporate their feedback
- Analyze communication effectiveness and recommend changes
- Develop and maintain communications policies and procedures
Ideal Profile
- At least 3+ years experience in communications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, marketing or liberal arts preferred
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills
- Genuine passion and energy for strengthening corporate culture and building community
- Demonstrated ability to deliver quality communications using different “voices” for different audiences & business needs
- A creative self-starter who enjoys bringing new ideas and initiatives forward
- Process and detail-oriented, with strong project and program management skills.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally with all levels of management and influence multiple stakeholders
- Emphasis on teamwork and ability to cut through ambiguity
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment with an early-stage company mentality
