At GoGuardian, we’re building applications that integrate technology with classroom instruction to improve learning and we're looking for a UI/UX Design Intern to join our Design Team. As a UX/UI Design Intern, you’ll assist designers, researchers, developers, and other members of the team with day-to-day projects that define engaging, consistent, and innovative experiences for GoGuardian products.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced, high-growth EdTech SaaS company.

What you'll do:

• Conduct daily and weekly check-ins with design team members involving current and upcoming projects.
• Participate in a variety of visual and/or written work assignments involving different aspects of user experience design, from user research note-taking to creating presentation slides, infographics, design documents, and low fidelity mocks or higher-fidelity final UI elements.
• Work with design team members to determine assignment details and deadlines.
• Produce project deliverables by all required deadlines, on a daily and weekly basis.
• Respond to all other work requests from design team members as needed.
• (Optional) Plan and develop a Design Internship Project, due at the end of the internship, to explore an interesting subject area important to your design career and/or educational technology, and produce deliverables that will drive product development at GoGuardian.

What you'll need:

• A minimum of 8 consecutive weeks, 30 hours per week of availability over the course of the internship program.
• A minimum of 90% of your available time working directly in-office.
• Must be in the LA area for the duration of the internship.
• For visual design projects, some experience with design software such as Sketch or the Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.
• Ability to communicate with team members via voice or online during work hours, when otherwise not present in the office.
• Strong communication skills and an ability to prioritize and defend project decisions.
• Enthusiasm to share, innovate, and create world-class design with a like-minded team of fellow creatives.

• You have a portfolio of visual design or other examples demonstrating an interest in user experience or educational technology.
