Technical Art Intern

Santa Monica Studio 

Responsibilities:

  • You will research, define, extend, and maintain production pipelines, processes, and workflows
  • You will be expected to collaborate with partners. Liaise between team members
  • You will identify problems; tackle them: invent or build robust, quality technical implementations
  • You will refine and improve artist workflows

Qualifications:

  • At least two years toward a B.S. degree in Computer Science, Graphic Art, or related field
  • Familiarity with 3D math
  • Deep understanding of algorithm design and of their inherent complexity
  • Knowledge of Maya and computer graphics as proven in a portfolio
  • Working knowledge of in C++ is helpful, along with Python / PySide and MEL
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable and extensible code with attention to reusability
  • Understanding of software architecture and design
  • Experience in coding user-facing tools; knowledge of good UI design principles
  • Communication: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Interns should be hardworking, communicative, and enthusiastic.
  • Highly organized with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced game development environment
  • A problem-solver

Desired qualifications:

  • At least one completed self-directed, self-created game project (any size, any genre, any platform)
