Riot engineers bring deep knowledge of specific technical areas but also value the opportunity to work in a variety of broader domains. As a Software Engineer Intern, you’ll work with both new and current technology, creating innovative solutions to overcome high-volume obstacles and to deliver player value.

As a Software Engineer Intern - Services, you may:

• Build a whole feature like League Voice, connecting multiple microservices to a third-party SDK
• Work with game teams to craft Riot-wide service offerings that ensure future R&D games to benefit from our best practices
• Understand the holistic picture of game development at Riot from League of Legends to 3-4 person R&D teams
• Build back-end services to help Riot’s future games to take advantage of shared social, client and platform features
• Write code to handle processing real-time data of League and R&D projects
• Help manage our multi-petabyte data warehouse

Internship Qualifications:

• Enrolled in a college or university 
• Returning for at least one more term following the internship
• Available to work full-time hours for 10-12 weeks at the indicated office during the summer
• Authorized to work in the U.S.

Required Qualifications:

• Knowledge of data structures and algorithms
• Familiarity with an object-oriented programming (OOP) language i.e. Java, C++

Desired Qualifications:

• Familiarity with Go, C#, C++, Java, and/or Python
• Experience with RESTful service interaction
• Experience with distributed systems
• Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC)
