Gameplay Programmer Intern

Santa Monica Studio

Responsibilities:

• You will implement gameplay technology as directed by more senior engineers
• You will help maintain existing systems
• You will be expected to collaborate with partners and customers
• You will write clear, maintainable, portable, and highly functional code
• Profile and optimize to remove bottlenecks
• You will test and document code produced

Qualifications:

• At least two years toward a B.Sc. degree in computer science or similar field
• A deep understanding of C and C++
• Proficient in linear algebra
• Communication: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Interns should be hardworking, communicative, and enthusiastic.
• Highly organized with a good work ethic
• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced game development environment
• A problem-solver

Desired qualifications:

• At least one completed self-directed, self-created game project (any size, any genre, any platform)
