Information Security Manager | Acorns

Acorns is actively seeking a highly-motivated Information Security Manager. As the Information Security Manager, you'll be responsible for architecting, defining and ensuring compliance with infrastructures patching processes; vulnerability scanning of applications and systems; defining security metrics and reporting; embedding security into the software development life cycle process (SDLC); and supporting all other Information Security related duties.

Job Description:

  •  Review and document security processes, policies, and procedures
  • Assist in managing the security for the organization (online, SDLC, endpoints, and physical security)
  • Integrate and align with the business to ensure there is alignment to all Information Security solutions
  • Develop roadmaps for all enterprise security technologies. This includes but is not limited to SIEM, Anti-virus, Firewalls, Proxies, IDS/IPS, and encryption technologies.
  • Lead all IT-system and application designs by providing security requirements and perspective during the requirements and initial build phases
  • Ensure the company is prepared for client audits
  • Work with third parties to evaluate their Information Security practice
  • Ensure proper documentation is in place for all security standards, procedures, and hardening for a wide range of products including network devices, virtual machines, mobile devices, Operating Systems, and application development
  • Perform network and application security assessments, including, but not limited to: blackbox/penetration testing, architecture/design review, and code review
  • Be able to identify and explain risks and remediation strategies for common application security vulnerabilities from the OWASP Top Ten, SANS (eg. SQL Injection, XSS, and CSRF)
  • Proactively learn and utilize new technologies, concepts, and procedures as appropriate to business requirements
  • Evaluate test and propose emerging technologies
  • Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions and or anomalies

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field
  • At least five years of experience in the Information Security field – working with a startup organization a plus
  • Possesses strong analytical skills, strong communication skills, strong documentation skills, and effectively evaluates information/data to make decisions
  • Working knowledge of commonly used security tools such as HTTP proxies, application/network vulnerability scanners, and other toolkits
  • Hands-on knowledge of compliance issues and IT auditing (PCI, ISO, SOX)
  • Information Security certifications are a plus
