Role Description
As the Head of Analyst Relations on the Dropbox Marketing team you will play a pivotal role in driving the analyst relations strategy, day-to-day programming, and strategic programs with top-tier industry analysts.
Working closely with other members of the global marketing team and cross-functional groups, you will have the opportunity to work with key leaders and partners across Dropbox, aiding in sharing the Dropbox story and establishing its position as a leading [content platform] vendor with the analyst community.
Key responsibilities include creating and maintaining relationships with the global analyst community, sharing industry trends and insights with the Dropbox team, and driving push and pull programs that result in Dropbox's positive market position.
This includes effective communication of vision, strategy, product direction, customer success, and competitive position. As you shape the Analyst Relations program, you'll be encouraged to exercise creative thinking to bring your plans to life, combining strategy, executive visibility, and strong execution in a unique role.
Responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive analyst relations strategy, complete with performance metrics to assess the impact on business objectives, such as market influence and product uptake.
- Coordinate internal resources and personnel at Dropbox to participate in inquiries or briefings, while managing a two-way dialogue with analysts, handling all their inquiries, communicating Dropbox updates, and evaluating the success of these interactions using a strategic measurement system.
- Strengthen and expand relationships with key industry analysts, ensuring regular and structured engagement to foster long-term strategic partnerships.
- Integrate analyst insights into Dropbox’s product, sales, and marketing strategies through cross-functional collaboration with internal teams, ensuring analyst feedback contributes to business planning and execution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as communications and marketing, to create and distribute content based on analyst insights. This includes developing whitepapers, case studies, and thought leadership pieces that are in line with and enhance Dropbox's market presence and authority across various go-to-market functions.
- Implement a systematic feedback mechanism to collect and analyze analyst perspectives, using this data to refine strategies and respond to market demands.
- Coordinate with the marketing team to amplify analyst-generated content and insights through various channels, including digital platforms and analyst-led webinars and events.
- Oversee the creation of briefing materials and messaging documents and organize analyst events in collaboration with notable firms and our analyst relations agency.
- Serve as Dropbox’s ambassador in ongoing analyst discussions and at industry conferences, reinforcing the company’s commitment to industry engagement.
- Manage our analyst relations agency to ensure alignment with Dropbox’s strategic objectives and optimal use of resources for analyst engagement activities.
Requirements
- Over 10 years of experience in analyst relations, with a background in communications, PR, or marketing, and a strong grasp of the tech industry, especially cloud services.
- Strong communication skills, capable of creating impactful content and simplifying complex concepts for diverse audiences.
- Strategic planning and execution expertise, with a history of delivering results that drive business success.
- Proficient in engaging and guiding senior leadership for high-level analyst interactions and in managing multiple, concurrent projects.
- Experience with global communications strategies for both internal and external stakeholders, including industry analysts and executive teams.
- Collaborative skills for integrating analyst insights with company strategy, supported by analytical abilities to evaluate program impact.
- Established network with top-tier analysts and firms, and a portfolio showcasing leadership in analyst relations campaigns or contributions to industry thought leadership.
- Proficient in managing analyst relations budgets and adept in using necessary tools and CRM systems, ensuring cost-effective strategies and meaningful analyst engagement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or related field, with over 12 years of experience in analyst relations within the tech industry.
- Demonstrated proficiency with digital engagement strategies, social media, and content amplification to enhance analyst relations.
- Recognized achievements in analyst relations, such as awards or public acknowledgments, indicating a high level of expertise and industry respect.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills are crucial, with a history of managing teams in this industry.
Total Rewards
Dropbox takes a number of factors into account when determining individual starting pay, including job and level they are hired into, location/metropolitan area, skillset, and peer compensation. We target most new hire offers between the minimum up to the middle of the range.
Salary/OTE is just one component of Dropbox’s total rewards package. All regular employees are also eligible for the corporate bonus program or a sales incentive (target included in OTE) as well as stock in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
Current Salary/OTE Ranges (Subject to change):
• US Zone 1: $193,000 - $227,100 - $261,200.
• US Zone 2: $173,700 - $204,400 - $235,100.
• US Zone 3: $154,400 - $181,700 - $209,000.
Dropbox uses the zip code of an employee’s remote work location to determine which metropolitan pay range we use. Current US Zone locations are as follows:
• US Zone 1: San Francisco metro, New York City metro, or Seattle metro
• US Zone 2: Austin (TX) metro, Chicago metro, California (outside SF metro), Colorado, Connecticut (outside NYC metro), Delaware, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York (outside NYC metro), Oregon, Pennsylvania (outside NYC or DC metro), Washington (outside Seattle metro), Washington DC metro and West Virginia (DC metro)
• US Zone 3: All other US locations
