Who we are looking for...

Promenade, formerly known only as BloomNation, is growing rapidly and looking for a VP, Engineering. In this role, you’ll drive our full-stack engineering road map by designing, developing, and implementing applications and services for various business verticals. You’ll advocate for cutting-edge technology, you’ll coach your teams, you’ll lead by example, and, most importantly, you’ll join a group of people you enjoy working with. The ideal candidate has passion and a positive demeanor, a strong technical background managing successful teams of application developers, and solid experience with large-scale SaaS environments, particularly eCommerce.

Specifically, you will…

• Oversee, mentor, and lead 4 distinct product-focused teams consisting of managers and individual contributors across all of our eCommerce verticals
• Participate in building a roadmap and developing long-term team vision in partnership with VP Product and other Engineering teams
• Manage the performance and career development of your teams
• Work closely with other Engineering and Product team members to support initiatives and determine best courses of action to deliver value and achieve business objectives
• Take ownership of team productivity: remove roadblocks and identify and implement improvements to our process and procedures

You will excel if you have...

• 7+ years of experience in Software Engineering management - Commercial delivery & strategy, predominantly building consumer-grade applications and products using agile methodology.
• 5+ years of hands-on programming experience with PHP and/or Node.js, API development
• Deep understanding of eCommerce topics and challenges
• Deep understanding of AWS and cloud architecture
• Exposure to Elastic Search
• Nice to have; Exposure to Magento, WordPress, WooCommerce, Solidus, Custom eCommerce solutions
• Expert knowledge of computer science, with a strong understanding of architecture in large-scale, distributed systems
• Ability to be both player & coach: We’re looking for someone who is passionate about getting into the details and driving large technology initiatives while coaching and empowering teams to take ownership
