ROLE SUMMARY:

LeaseLock seeks an experienced engineering executive who can lead a high-performance engineering team and guide the business through its next chapter of rapid expansion. The VP of Engineering is a broad management role focused on execution, development of the org, and scaling the LeaseLock software platform. LeaseLock is growing quickly and needs an experienced leader who can balance growth, maturation of process, and deliver quality software as the company matures from series B to a late stage growth company and beyond. An ideal candidate has a proven track record of people management and a strong software engineering background.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Planning & Communication

Assist with roadmapping, resource planning, and collaborate with the product org. Ensure we have a sound plan (with the right engineering resources) and clear communication to stakeholders. Be a close partner to product and other department heads. Be a strong voice and advocate for the engineering team at the leadership level

• Execution & Predictability

Focus on roadmap execution and increase the predictability of shipped features. Work with product and engineering to ensure engineer utilization is high and work is prioritized and actionable. Foster accountability and improved transparency

• Invest in People & Org Growth

Participate in mentorship, hiring, and take ownership of the engineering team from an operating standpoint. Set the engineering team up for success as it expands beyond a 20-person team. Maintain a high bar for performance and increase the talent density.

• Improve Process, Compliance, & Efficiency

Mature processes, best practices, and quality standards. Actively participate in discussions and initiatives that improve the output and effectiveness of the engineering team - be a force multiplier. Further LeaseLock’s compliance and security efforts as the company grows and undergoes increased scrutiny

• Architecture & Design

Contribute to architectural decisions and the technical direction of the LeaseLock platform. Balance technical debt, speed of delivery, and scalability. Factor in the needs of the business into all decision making.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 8+ years in a people management role at a high-performing engineering organization
• Experience at a later-stage venture-backed company
• Experience growing teams from double towards triple digits
• Advanced Building software on cloud infrastructure (AWS or equivalent)
• Advanced Understanding of data engineering, data science, and software architecture
• Excellent Verbal and written communication inclusive of technical documentation
• Excellent Cross-functional collaboration
• Excellent Ability to effect change and improve process
• Experience in Fintech, Insurtech, or a data-focused business
• Experience operating in a heavily regulated industry (SOC 2, compliance audits, etc.)
• Experience creating an effective distributed work culture
