Test Technician
Heliogen is a renewable energy technology company focused on eliminating the need for fossil fuels in heavy industry and powering a sustainable future. The company’s AI-enabled, modular concentrated solar technology aims to cost-effectively deliver near 24/7 carbon-free energy in the form of heat, power, or green hydrogen fuel at scale – for the first time in history.
You Aspire To:
Fabricate, build, and assemble precision electrical and mechanical test equipment and fixtures in a prototype environment. This includes working directly with design and manufacturing engineering teams to define tests, develop, and deploy solutions. This will be a hands-on, on-site role with some travel to field sites.
What's Essential:
- Minimum of 2 years work experience that includes hands-on experience with industrial electromechanical systems
- Fabricate, build, and assemble precision test/validation equipment and fixtures in a prototype environment
- Provide solutions or alternative approaches to solve basic technical manufacturing problems
- Provided electrical schematics from engineering, candidate will be responsible for component layout, organized harness routing, point-to-point wiring, assembly of rack mounted test infrastructure, and continuity verification
- Generate harness drawings and fabricate per industry best practices
- Perform documented reworks, upgrades, general maintenance, and test equipment
- Coordinate with purchasing for BOM procurement, engineering for technical guidance, and machine shop teams for fabrication needs
- Interact with engineering teams to handle and execute work requests
- Independently manage time to successfully complete parallel assignments

- Experience in the use of measurement, inspection and scribing tools (caliper, height gage, scribe, …)
- Experience in the use of multimeters, amp meters, oscilloscopes, data acquisition systems
- Ability to operation standard metrology equipment (force stand, microscope, hardness tester, etc.)
- Ability to solder per IPC J-STD-001
- Working knowledge of measurement techniques for temperature, pressure, flow, and the application strain gages are also highly desired
