Tinder’s Innovation Team is building the next generation of features for the world’s most popular dating platform. We design, build, test, and refine features that expand and disrupt our platform before our competitors have a chance to. This team is looking for an engineer to accelerate the development of cutting-edge features, as well as fostering better collaboration between other teams.

In this role, you will:

• Design, develop, and operate scalable, resilient distributed services that run on Kubernetes serving hundreds of millions of users around the world
• Influence the roadmap and product development of the Tinder App and services
• Collaborate with other teams to execute our product vision
• Mentor, collaborate, and learn from experienced and passionate team members

We're looking for:

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent with 8+ years of industrial working experience
• Excellent knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, software design, and coding
• Experience designing and building resilient, distributed systems handling high traffic volumes
• Experience in handling ambiguous business requirements with excellent prioritization, time management abilities, and a focus on execution
• Passion to solve complex problems and make continuous improvements
• Excellent knowledge and experience with a backend language like Java, Typescript, Node.js, Scala, etc
• Able to mentor and develop junior engineers

Bonus points if you have:

• Experience with search and recommendation
• Experience with cloud computing systems such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure
• Experience in design and development using NoSQL such as DynamoDB or Cassandra
• Experience with Redis, ElasticSearch, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Spark, or Flink
• Experience with Agile development methodology and CI/CD
• Experience with Docker containers along with Kubernetes
