About The Job

We're seeking a Sr. Software Engineer to join the true[X] team. The Frontend Platform team is responsible for building and supporting key code bases, components and user experiences driving the location advertising experience across all platforms (Desktop, Mobile, Connected TV), critical campaign management and optimization tools and the agency-facing, self-service Gimbal Hub platform. As true[X] continues to grow and evolve, so does the need to stay at the cutting edge in Frontend user experience polish and performance, and continually lower the friction for its extensibility, experimentation, and evolution. This work is the face of the product and at the foundation of the attention and location-powered marketplace.

What you'll do:

  • Develop the state of the art, scalable technology at the heart of our location based advertising marketplace
  • Be an active and engaged owner of the product and customer experience, collaborating effectively with Product Management, Design, Ad Studio, Full-Stack Engineering, and other functions
  • Maintain high standards of code quality, including tests and documentation, and encourage the same by providing constructive code reviews to collaborators
  • Work closely with other engineers to investigate design approaches, prototype new technology and evaluate technical feasibility of new features
  • Manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, exciting environment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues, problems, and errors encountered across our various endpoints

What you have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in the software development field
  • 5+ years of complete software lifecycle experience
  • Proven experience with React, TypeScript, HTML5 / CSS / JS, Angular, and/or other modern approaches to Frontend engineering
  • Proven experience working with a modern web framework, preferably Ruby on Rails
  • Prior experience delivering highly visually compelling and performant user experiences at internet scale
  • Proven experience consuming JSON APIs and working with backend teams to define API contracts that support a great user experience
  • Experience working in Agile teams using Scrum or Kanban
  • Experience with using AWS technologies (S3, CloudFront, etc.)
  • Great team player with a can-do attitude and sterling sense of ownership

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with configuring and using GitLab/GitHub based CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with full cycle development of full-stack web applications and services, deployed against AWS or GCP clouds
  • Experience working in teams using XP (Extreme Programming) or TDD (Test Driven Development) approaches to software development
  • Strong knowledge of authentication/authorization and application security (OAuth, SSO)
  • Experience with delivering solutions in the Advertising Technology vertical
  • Familiarity with the IAB standards supporting advertising solutions online such as VAST and VPAID
  • Strong knowledge of SQL
