YogaGlo is on a mission to create intelligent tools that challenge people to live a fulfilling life. To accomplish that mission, we are looking for a Senior Back-End Engineer to build and main back-end tooling, services and APIs while working alongside a varied group of engineers, designers and product owners. You will create new product features and iterate upon existing ones, and ensure all deployments are running smoothly to maintain a happy experience for all our users.

What You'll Do

• Build services of all sizes, ranging from microservices built from scratch/boilerplate, to contributing to larger APIs
• Research available frameworks, tooling or libraries to find a best fit for a given project
• Use business rules to help flesh out requirements (and knowing which questions to ask arrive at the right requirements!)
• Use requirements to recommend the appropriate system architecture for the service and/or feature
• Break out a system design out into practical tasks
• Coding, test writing, documentation, peer review, QA and deployment!
• Be a resource to other less experienced engineers, and/or engineers from other teams

What You'll Bring To YogaGlo

• 4+ years in back-end developent and software design
• Monitoring, troubleshooting and debugging systems
• Node and express.js
• Database schema design and query-writing (PostgreSQL, AWS Redshift, NoSQL, caching)
• A Docker-based environment
• NGINX
• Amazon Web Services (EC2, S3, RDS, etc) or a similar cloud platform like Azure

Based in Santa Monica, CA, YogaGlo was founded in 2008 by brothers Derik and Ryan Mills on a quest to make yoga accessible for as many people as possible. Over the past decade, YogaGlo has grown organically thanks to our passionate members and world-class teacher community.
