Software Engineering Manager
Our mission at GOAT is to create a trusted platform for buying and selling sneakers safely. We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to recruit and manage a team of offshore software engineers.
In this role you will:
- Recruit and manage the offshore engineering team
- Manage all people related tasks including immersion and performance
- Translate product requirements to the offshore engineering team and perform code reviews
- Dive into the code when needed - Ruby on Rails
- Own and lead the offshore engineering function by overseeing the development of long-term strategic and short-term roadmaps
We are looking for:
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
- Experience managing offshore software engineering teams
- 5+ years experience in software development
- Experience with engineering best practices such as code refactoring, design patterns, microservices, building highly scalable applications and application security
- Experience scaling Ruby on Rails applications to support millions of customers
- Object-oriented design & computer science fundamentals
- Ability to review and ensure engineering best practices
- Startup or E-commerce industry experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills and ability to travel abroad once or twice a quarter to visit the offshore team
- Fluent in Spanish is a plus
