Our mission at GOAT is to create a trusted platform for buying and selling sneakers safely. We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to recruit and manage a team of offshore software engineers.

In this role you will:

• Recruit and manage the offshore engineering team
• Manage all people related tasks including immersion and performance
• Translate product requirements to the offshore engineering team and perform code reviews
• Dive into the code when needed - Ruby on Rails
• Own and lead the offshore engineering function by overseeing the development of long-term strategic and short-term roadmaps

We are looking for:

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
• Experience managing offshore software engineering teams
• 5+ years experience in software development
• Experience with engineering best practices such as code refactoring, design patterns, microservices, building highly scalable applications and application security
• Experience scaling Ruby on Rails applications to support millions of customers
• Object-oriented design & computer science fundamentals
• Ability to review and ensure engineering best practices
• Startup or E-commerce industry experience preferred
• Excellent communication skills and ability to travel abroad once or twice a quarter to visit the offshore team
• Fluent in Spanish is a plus
