Software Engineer

Help turn snacking into a science at one of the most exciting food tech startups in LA! At SnackNation, we take snacking seriously. We’ve partnered with the hottest emerging CPG brands to bring healthier snacks to everyone. We fuel companies like Microsoft, MailChimp, NFL and Disney Imagineering to help increase their teams’ productivity and increase engagement through snacking.

With an understanding of backend technologies, you’ll provide thought support around architecture, frameworks, performance, automated testing, monitoring, and more. Working closely with the rest of our engineering team, you’ll assist in creating the foundation for how we build data-driven applications, tools, and experiences for our subscribers, brands, and employees.

What You'll Do:

• Support our account and subscription management application used by our subscribers and account managers.
• Launch our Snack IQ recommendation engine to provide the best snacks to each of our subscribers through deep analysis of product information and user signals.
• Manage AWS Lambda functions for ETL and cross-application integration.
• Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems touching every part of the company.

Who You Are:

• You have 2+ years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails.
• You have 2+ years of professional experience with Relational Databases (ie. MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (ie. MongoDB, Couchbase).
• You have built secure, high-performing RESTful APIs at scale.
• You consistently achieve high levels of unit test coverage with test frameworks.
• You have hands-on experience with e-commerce subscription systems (ie Zuora, Recurly).
• You enjoy providing mentorship to your teammates.
• You care about the details.
• You seek perpetual growth.
