ROLE SUMMARY

 

As a Software Engineer in Test, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of LeaseLock’s customer-facing applications, internal dashboards, and APIs. RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Contribute to LeaseLock’s insurtech platform by ensuring a great user experience for both customers and internal teams.
  • Test the internal APIs through functional tests and stress tests.
  • Test that data is being properly written to the database.
  • Write code to automate repetitive tasks in the LeaseLock software ecosystem and make our engineers’ lives easier.
  • Test the user-facing UIs via manual smoke testing and automated scripted tests via Selenium or Cypress
  • Champion best practices
  • Stay ahead of trends in the testing software ecosystem
  • Create test plans for key features alongside product managers

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Automated UI Testing Frameworks — you know your way around a Selenium or Cypress script. You’re able to translate test plans into automated UI testing scripts. And you know how to debug your scripts when they fail while discerning actual UI regressions from script failures
  • API Testing Experience — you aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves and write meaningful stress tests that take APIs to their limits. You know how to write functional and end-to-end tests to tests for regressions in APIs as they get modified over time.
  • Database Knowledge You can extract meaningful data from a relational database. You know how to query a relational database for data you need to extract to prove something is working correctly.
  • Ability to code (in any language) You know how to write programs. You are capable of solving problems with code and know your way around an IDE.
  • JavaScript (or similar) You are familiar with Javascript. You are capable of writing testing scripts in this language. Not only that, but you aren’t afraid to write programs when needed to automate repetitive tasks.
  • Bash Scripting You know your way around a Unix terminal and can write simple Bash scripts to automate everyday redundant tasks. You can also write scripts that may influence the build system.
  • Familiar w/ cloud computing platforms like AWS You’ve worked with cloud computing platforms before and built reliable, scalable, and performant systems on top of cloud computing resources.
  • Tech documentation You can write clear and concise technical documentation to promote and cement understanding of your features across the Engineering and Product departments.
  • Automation You want to automate everything so that you can eliminate repetitive tasks with code.
