DMAI is looking for a full time Software Engineer, Embedded System to help further develop, maintain and improve the built-in firmware on our flagship product, AILA Sit & Play™, as well as future products. This role will help ensure the best synergy between our hardware and software. Due to the circumstances caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, all of our positions are remote at the moment, but will transition back to the office once it is safe to do so. This is not a permanently remote position. 

What You Will Do

  • Device System & Android Application design, development and implementation
  • Remote Upgrades for Android
  • Communicate often with overseas hardware suppliers/manufacturers in different time zones to ensure standard quality, obtain information, and resolve discrepancies
  • Diagnose, test, report, and suggest solutions to system software issues
  • Analyze, monitor and improve the efficiency and stability of the system
  • Integrate with the Customer Interface according to specifications
  • Other duties as assigned 

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Strong experience in Android development
  • Strong experience with Linux OS
  • Proficient in C/C++
  • Understand the concepts of how software interfaces with hardware
  • Ability to write software design documents, test plans/procedure and be comfortable running unit tests on target hardware
  • Basic knowledge of Computer Networks (TCP/IP, HTTP, RESTful, SSL, etc.)
  • Fluent in both English and Mandarin (Listening, Speaking, Writing, and Reading)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship experience working with embedded hardware modules
  • Internship experience with hardware Quality Control 
  • Some knowledge of industry standards for hardware component specifications and costs
