Job Summary:

Mobile architect will lead the design, building, and architecture of iHerb’s mobile products.   

Job Expectations:

• Partner with technology teams globally to deliver scalable, resilient, and high-performing apps for a best-in-class user experience
• Drive adoption towards a unified architecture vision for our mobile platform with shared technology, process, and tools
• Provide design specifications and architecture for new feature development
• Lead design efforts on native mobile apps across both IOS and Android platforms
• Evaluate new mobile coding frameworks and approaches and drive adoption of new innovated features across mobile platform
• Establish test driven development practices for unit, functional, and integration testing to ensure high quality products
• Collaborate with team to help define product development teams on product and technical roadmaps

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

   Required:      

• Expertise with designing and delivering optimized native mobile apps in client server architecture
• Strong working experience with writing high quality, testable, mainatable, and well documented code
• Expert level knowledge of industry best practices for design and implementation of mobile native apps
• Strong working experience with Android SDK, Swift, Objective-C, Kotlin, Microservices
• Experience building large scale, complex, IOS/Android applications optimized for both UX and performance
• Experience coordinated development efforts across globally distributed development teams.
• Strong leader and mentor for junior engineers on the team

Equipment Knowledge:

• Is there any equipment that is must to know. – I don’t think this relevant.  
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Experience with Google Business Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms) preferred

Experience Requirements:

Generally requires a minimum of 10+ years of software development experience and 7+ years in mobile platforms (IOS and Android)

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or related field

Judgment/Reasoning Ability:  Able to identify, troubleshoot and resolve problems quickly using sound judgment, poise and diplomacy.  Ability to use judgment and reasoning skills, and determine when to escalate issues, as required, in a timely manner.
