About the Role
Route's software engineers are developing next-generation technologies that change how millions of users see, share, and discover the world's products. We have to solve engineering problems at scale with a high degree of reliability and security. We have an engineering culture of empowering teams and engineers to succeed. Our SRE/DevOps group is the key to making this work at scale as they focus on empowering engineers to innovate while maintaining operational excellence through writing solid code and automation.

Your participation:
- Build tools with code while designing processes to empower engineering teams to deliver software at scale
- Champion operational excellence across the engineering organization
- Empower engineering teams on subjects such as CI/CD, Cloud Infrastructure within AWS, application security and monitoring, etc
- Embody a culture of innovation, transparency, and radical candor
- Be proactive in reducing engineering overhead by spotting problems and areas for improvement
Minimum qualifications:
- Solid understanding of Computer Science fundamentals
- 2+ years of relevant work experience
- Competency with one or more general purpose programming languages (e.g. Go, Java, Python, Javascript)
- Background in cloud architecture within public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure or GCP
- Solid and recent experience with Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Azure ARM Templates or other Infrastructure as Code languages/tools
- Experienced with a wide range of SRE/DevOps tools and best practices
- Exposure to CI/CD and deployment automation
- Understands core networking constructs and design
- Deep understanding of CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, networking and/or security desired
- Passion and ability to learn new technologies as needed
Preferred qualifications:
- BS degree in Computer Science or similar technical field
- Experience with Docker, Amazon ECS, Kubernetes, etc.
- Experience and success in software application development (e.g. building microservices, etc.)
