The Trade Desk Solutions Architecture team is looking for individuals with a strong engineering & solution development background who are skilled at working cross-functionally with both internal stakeholders and customer facing teams. We build customer enabling technologies to enhance The Trade Desk's platform to make our customers the most successful in meeting their goals.
This is not a technical sales role, however prior experience in technical sales, or technical account management is a plus. This is a hands-on keyboard role, delivering the highest quality customer focused solutions.
ABOUT YOU:• You have a sustained record of accomplishment making significant, self-directed, full-stack contributions to large and impactful software projects. You think beyond just the task at hand to deeply understand the 'why' behind what you are doing and support your stakeholders and customers to utilize your work to the fullest extent possible.• You are a broadly skilled engineer/architect, accustomed to developing software applications and web services. You have experience building always on systems, working across a variety of technologies and service layers. You are familiar with REST, batch, polling and microservice approaches and have proficiency in creating cloud-native solutions using platforms like Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure• You have a customer-value and product-focused mindset. You have the passion and ability to discover our clients' unique needs and business goals. You help partner with both internal and external teams to help achieve customer goals by delivering effective data-driven custom solutions.• You have solid business acumen. You can credibly translate technical concepts to business value for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.• You work with confidence and without ego. You are adept at identifying and evaluating trade-offs, willing to be proven wrong, and quick to volunteer to share your knowledge and expertise to support your fellow teammates.• You value, seek out, and foster diversity. ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Senior Solutions Architect will design and build software solutions for our partners and clients across our spectrum of custom solution services.• You will be a full-stack owner. You will interact with some of the largest advertising agents and brands in the world to understand their requirements and business goals. Based on their business goals and requirements, you will design, build, and deploy software solutions to achieve those goals.• You will manage projects of varying complexity and duration where you will communicate advanced engineering concepts to both technical and non-technical clients, plan tasks, set timelines, manage, and update stakeholders, resolve blockers, and drive the delivery forward.• You will monitor and manage custom solutions, debug application-related issues and degradation, and implement ongoing mitigations.• You will help in building our team through a combination of mentorship, technical leadership, knowledge sharing with a constant focus on raising the bar.• You will leverage your background and experience to develop best practices that are scalable and repeatable, and advocate for them within the global Solutions Architect team• You will use your business acumen to credibly translate technical concepts to business value, to quickly understand the clients' needs, to build trust and confidence with clients, and to influence non-technical stakeholders• You will apply your knowledge of SDLC and Agile practices to maximize customer and partner value in the fewest steps possible, while maintaining quality, in a controlled manner• You will use your presentation and communication skills to build strong cross functional partnerships, with clients, business, engineering, and partners representing all aspects of the business with their own priorities and opinions.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:• 5-7+ years of work experience as either a Software Engineer or a hands-on Architect in a technology-focused company• Strong software engineering background with experience in writing software in a variety of programming languages (Python needed), developing backend systems, web-based UIs, and web services using relational databases (such as SQL Server, Postgres, etc.) or data warehouses (such as Vertica, Snowflake, etc.)• Strong record of accomplishment using modern application architectures such as Microservices, SOA, or Event-driven architecture.• 3+ years' experience in building and deploying cloud-native applications in AWS• Demonstrable creative thinking and problem-solving abilities, a passion for problem-solving and learning innovative technologies quickly• Solid communication skills to interact with and influence some of our largest clients• Success working with clients directly, demonstrating an inquisitive mindset to deeply understand their business challenges and the opportunities that we can help unlock by mapping to custom-built features and functions• Understanding of big data platforms and data engineering is a plus• Experience with a formal project management method or managing projects is a plus• Experience working with clients, product, and engineering teams in a pre-sales role or consultative experience is a plus• Experience with Azure and GCP is a plus

Our Compensation and Benefits (for NY, CO, CA, and WA residents only)
At the Trade Desk, Base Salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range. The base salary range for this role is
$133,700 -$245,100
In accordance with NY, CO, CA, and WA law, the range provided is The Trade Desk's reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location. All employees may be eligible to become The Trade Desk shareholders through eligibility for stock-based compensation grants, which are awarded to employees based on company and individual performance. The Trade Desk also offers other compensation depending on the role such as sales-based incentives and commissions. Plus, expected benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with premiums paid in full for employees and dependents, retirement benefits such as a 401k plan and company match, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, well-being benefits, reimbursement for certain tuition expenses, parental leave, sick time of 1 hour per 30 hours worked, vacation time for full time employees up to 120 hours thru the first year and 160 hours thereafter, and around 13 paid holidays per year.
