Bird is a last-mile electric vehicle sharing company dedicated to bringing safe, low-cost, environmentally-friendly transportation solutions to communities across the world. We provide a fleet of electric, shared scooters that can be accessed via smartphone. Bird is headquartered in Venice, California and is rapidly expanding across the country and the world.

Responsibilities:

• BS degree in Computer Science or related STEM field
• Work directly with all our engineering teams to help build a secure system (infrastructure, platform, mobile, firmware)
• Work with other teams to ensure that all critical systems and workflows have effective and appropriate detection and alerting
• Ensure security best practices throughout our platform
• Review code and find security vulnerabilities before we launch new features
• Configure and maintain systems to detect and prevent network intrusions and scan for vulnerabilities
• Investigate and handle alerts, reports of unusual behavior, and security incidents
• Design and implement security tests that can help us identify issues automatically
• Work with huge amounts of data to detect and prevent attacks

Qualifications:

• Deep experience and knowledge of network and host-based intrusion detection systems
• Deep understanding of security vulnerabilities and attack vectors
• Experience with WAF systems
• Linux and cloud platform experience
• Proficiency in one or more high-level programming languages like Java, Scala, Kotlin, Ruby, or CProficiency in SQL
• Big data experience a plus
