A Senior Software Engineer (I) at this level in their career is independent and a technical lead, to the engineering team. They will often act as a point person on a technical area or product, and is respected as someone who sets the technical direction, provides advice, understands and executes on the vision of the company, and is familiar with working across cross-functional teams within the organization. This role is a strong mid-level / experienced Engineer that is ready to grow into a top lead technical point.

We are a remote organization. This is a fully remote position, as long as you reside in the United States.

What You'll Do:

• Write and ship code daily.
• Works closely with the entire team to ensure our customers and internal team have the functionality they need to get the job done
• This Engineer will own what they build, gets creative with solutions, writes tests, and contributes directly to our core product
• Takes ownership of their work and outcomes
• Reimagines how an industry works. Flowspace is creating clean, beautiful software in a market dominated by outdated enterprise solutions
• Maintains and improves existing software code to meet the same standards/criteria as new codeDocuments newly implemented features and bug fixes
• Assist with and/or performing upgrades, training, and implementation
• Be an independent thinker and a technical lead, to the engineering team, often acting as a point person on a technical area or product
• Experienced working across cross-functional teams within the organization. 

Who We're Looking For:

• 5+ years of software development experience
• Web application development experience with ReactJS
• Can write code, collect and manage feedback from teammates and product managers, while also reviewing and coaching code on junior team members
• Knowledgeable in CS fundamentals.
• Strong architecture skills 

Bonus Points:

• Logistics / fulfillment industry experience
• Ruby on Rails is a plus -- though if you have good knowledge with the qualifications above, you will most likely know Ruby on Rails
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study a plus, but not required

• Our teams work across all time zones within the United States. There may be occasional support responsibilities and/or meetings, that take place outside of the traditional working hours of 8am-5pm, if other participants are in a different time zone.
