Riot engineers bring deep knowledge of specific technical areas but also value the chance to work in a variety of broader domains. As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll also dive into projects that focus on team cohesiveness and cross-team objectives. You’ll lead without authority and provide other engineers with a clear illustration of extraordinary engineering.

As a Senior Software Engineer on a new team within the Core Infrastructure Team (CIT), you'll work with various technologies that challenge not only Riot but the industry as a whole. Our team's goal is to provide, support, and maintain critical identity/core services for developers. Your role would include creating solutions that allow developers to use our infrastructure easily. You will guide efforts involving constructing a global ecosystem to design, build, and ship products safely, quickly, and sustainably. You'll also help develop the infrastructure, services, and tools that'll empower all of Riot Engineering to "level up." Additionally, as a Senior Software Engineer, you will also be responsible for providing mentorship and technical guidance to more junior-level engineers. 

This position reports to the Engineering Leader for Riot's Core Infrastructure Team.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience
• Consistent track record of shipping and live supporting a product
• Expert in at least one of the following languages: Java, Python, Go
• Strong DevOps focus (Cloud & OnPrem) and experience building and deploying infrastructure using technology such as ansible, chef, puppet, etc.
• Experience with AWS (or comparable cloud environments)
• Fluent with design patterns, test-driven development, and automated testing frameworks
• Proficient with Scrum/Agile development methodologies
• Experience delivering on multiple contending priorities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication

Desired Qualifications

• Expertise in defining and delivering complex technical solutions to technical customers/users.
