We are helping millions save when they shop online, and we're hiring! We are actively seeking Senior Software Engineers to join our Honey Pay team in Los Angeles to help us build and deliver excellent, user-first products via rapid iterations and peer review.

Honey Pay is a micro-lending service aimed at empowering Honey users to take advantage of the best deals as they come. Honey Pay allows users the option to split purchases into equal monthly installments over a specified period of time rather than paying one lump-sum at checkout.

As a Senior Software Engineer on Honey Pay, you will empower our members by creating choice in the way they pay for products. You will focus on increasing engagement, performance, and reliability for the Honey Pay product, as well as take ownership of the technical direction and execution. You can expect to work with other engineers, product managers, designers, and analysts to improve the scale and efficiency of our existing system as well as deliver new features. You can also expect to motivate and mentor the technical growth of other engineers.

What You'll Do:

As a Senior Software Engineer at Honey, you will:

  • Work within a mission team (a cross-functional team focused on a specific, well-defined mission) on a given set of features and services
  • Architect, design, write, review, and test code in a collaborative environment with 2-5 other software engineers
  • Leverage your peers as multipliers for your skills to create excellent products and services for Honey’s 10+ million users
  • Mentor and guide other engineers on the team
  • Build GraphQL/REST-based APIs and resolvers using JavaScript
  • Build large-scale, stand-alone tasks reading from Pubsub and processing millions of messages per day
  • Build monitoring for all your services and tasks to ensure their reliability and health
  • Work closely with a product manager for your mission team on product requirements and translate those requirements to technical solutions 

About You:

  • You have experience using modern version-control system for your source code repository (Git, Mercurial, GitHub, BitBucket)
  • You have experience with large scale microservice architectures
  • You want to work with Docker and Kubernetes
  • You are self-motivated to build and iterate in quick cycles
  • You are willing and able to deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain your systems in production
  • You have experience working with 3rd-party APIs
  • You are well versed with current observability technologies
