EZ Texting, named one of the Best Places to Work in Los Angeles, is an exciting cloud messaging company with offices in Santa Monica, CA, Pasadena, CA, Austin, TX and Kiev, Ukraine. We are looking for individuals ready to work with a fun and dedicated team to change the face of communication. We are now seeking a Senior PHP Engineer in our Santa Monica office. This is a 2 year contract assignment.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with other developers and teams to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain web applications and services

• Provide technical leadership to teammates through coaching, mentorship and code reviews

• Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good SDLC practices and leading by example

• Recommend improvements to infrastructure, technology and processes

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of PHP development experience

• Deep understanding of OOP concepts

• Understanding of and experience with MVC frameworks

• Highly proficient with HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery

• Experience with MVC frameworks

• Experience building REST/JSON APIs or web services

• SCM experience, preferably GIT

• RDBMS experience, including schema design and SQL optimization

• Familiarity with agile development methodologies

• Great design and problem solving skills, passion for quality and engineering excellence at scale

Nice to have

• Experience building apps with Angular 2 framework

• Experience with other languages besides PHP

• Experience with MongoDB, and/or other NoSQL databases

• Experience with Redis

• Experience with RabbitMQ

• Experience with Gearman

• Experience tuning and scaling high-volume transactional use cases

• BS in CS or related field
