The Boeing Company is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer located in El Segundo, CA.  The successful candidate will be working on multiple programs within the Space and Launch community.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Support the development, validation and implementation of advanced simulation and visualization tools
  • Employ advanced modeling and simulation techniques to validate proposed factory layouts and build-flow strategies.
  • Provide visibility and recommendations to management on key virtual manufacturing, visualization and simulation technologies.
  • Investigate emerging robotics technologies in support of future factory concepts/designs.
  • Assist on-site programs in resolving complex technical problems affecting manufacturing and product integration.
  • Support the design of user interface and web-based applications to view, filter and edit metadata from engineering documents.
  • Review of customer requirements and develop ideas/concepts for manufacturing processes and establish methods to meet operational/customer requirements
  • Provide expertise and consultations on enabler computing methodologies and technologies in support of manufacturing engineering initiatives
  • Facilitate the validation and deployment of Enterprise-wide processes/tools to improve product development and execution performance
  • Participate in the collaborative design, development and integration of server/client and web-served applications within an Integrated Development Environment

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • Experience in engineering modeling and/or analysis with computer programming of analytical models, simulations, and/or data processing
  • 5+ years of experience with 3D modeling, analysis and simulation of production systems

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility - U.S. Citizenship required. This is a sensitive/safety-sensitive position and is subject to NASA (DOT) random drug and alcohol testing.

Virtual Work Location:

Given the significant portion of time dedicated to travel, telecommuting will be considered for this position compliant with Boeing procedures.
