At Scale we provide a 360 holistic approach to health and wellness to people looking to improve their quality of life and overall health. We create educational material about health topics and sell a suite of original product formulas online to address common health concerns, based on clinical trials and with the help of doctors that we partner with.

As an online company, our operations rely heavily on technology. We are looking for an experienced full stack web developer to join and lead our development team, in the midst of exciting growth for our company. The team is currently working on expanding the functionality of our in-house built eCommerce platform (based on the Zend Framework), creating new mobile apps for all of our brands, improving the user experience of our eCommerce websites, while enhancing the security, stability and robustness of our technology stack. We use Linux, Nginx, MySQL and PHP to power our backend, and Flutter as our cross-platform mobile development framework.

The ideal candidate would feel comfortable leading the technical direction of a mid-sized eCommerce company (we’re 80+ people strong), take ownership of the stability and performance of our online properties and participate in conceptualizing and planning new technical developments to help the company grow.

What you’ll do:

• Analyze - Help gather and flesh out product requirements and work closely with our management team to define them.
• Design - Create a plan for implementation of new technical projects, and work closely with our design team to flesh out the user experience.
• Build - You’ll be writing the most complex and crucial parts of our systems, and helping us scale our operations.
• Mentor - Help our less experienced developers perform better and grow professionally.
• Improve - There’s always a better way of doing things, and we look forward to your input on improving processes and tools used at our company

Qualifications:

• At least 7 years experience developing web applications
• 5+ years of PHP experience with an MVC framework
• Highly proficient with JavaScript and experienced with front-end client libraries
• Advanced SQL and general database expertise
• Strong Linux server administration skills - setup, uptime, recovery
• Experience with APIs and web-services
• Solid knowledge of testing principles
• Experience with version control systems (Git)
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal
• Mobile development experience is a plus! (Android / iOS)
