SENIOR EMBEDDED ROBOTICS SYSTEMS ENGINEER
As a Senior Embedded Robotics Systems Engineer at Wavemaker Labs , your core application competencies in design and troubleshooting complex robotics systems allow you to shine. You will work with our talented team members to lead the development of our robotics products and build the systems foundation for successful autonomous robots like the Graze autonomous commercial lawnmower or the Carry self-driving farm robot. You Will:

  • Collaborate with systems engineers and multi-functional teams in developing requirements and managing interfaces with hardware and software within the prototype
  • Develop and maintain various engineering tools used to debug, analyze, and test embedded solutions
  • Design, bring up, and test electronic boards
  • Provide technical solutions for desired user experiences
  • Develop, test, and integrate high-quality firmware and hardware
  • Conduct code reviews and write code documentation
  • Work with project leaders to define assignments, schedules, quality expectations, and other project criteria


You have:

  • Graduate degree in EE or equivalent, plus 3+ years of relevant experience architecting, designing, bring-up and troubleshooting of complex embedded systems in a mechatronics/robotics context
  • Strong C/C++ skills for real time software, control loops, RTOS, embedded Linux and micro-controllers
  • Familiarity with networking protocols for data transfer and timing (TCP/IP, UDP, PTP, EtherCAT) and low-level interfaces (I2C, SPI, CAN, UART, RS232/422/485)
  • Familiarity with design, bring-up and firmware of PCBs
  • Experience with selecting robotics sensors and actuators, their systems integration and troubleshooting
  • Solid hands-on experience troubleshooting complex mechatronics and robotics systems


Nice to have:

  • Experience with sensor/board verification and validation
  • Experience with Altium Designer
  • Experience implementing safety-critical, high reliability, or fault-tolerant software
  • Bash or Python scripting
