You Aspire To: 

• Design components and systems for power distribution and communication for heliostat fields
• Analyze and optimize designs for low cost, ease of installation, and compliance with applicable safety standards
• Support supplier build management and hands-on one-off equipment builds
• Test, design, implement, and document instrumentation and fixtures for validation and production testing of components
• Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and collaborate with internal and external manufacturing teams to ensure product quality

What's Essential:

• BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field with a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience
• An understanding of fundamental electrical engineering principles
• Experience with design and manufacture of electrical systems integrating off-the-shelf components and custom electronics
• Experience with electrical CAD, schematic, and layout software such as Altium
• Use hand calculations or simulation software to analyze circuits
• Use test equipment such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes, programmable power supplies, electronic loads, etc.
• Experience with electrical/electronics debugging techniques
• Familiarity with microcontrollers and firmware
• Familiarity with test instrumentation and data acquisition
• Clear documentation of procedures and work product for internal and external use
• Clear written and verbal communication skills

Desirable Experience:

• Working with solar or industrial applications
• Working with industrial controls: instrumentation, PLCs, relays, VFDs, etc.
• Experience with safety compliance and codes (NEC, OSHA), and inspection criteria
• Creating electrical drawings for use by external contractors
• Experience with PV modules, optimizers, and battery storage
• Experience building and wiring electrical enclosures
• Test instrumentation and data acquisition
• Wireless communication protocols
• Programming experience in C or C++ or C#/.NET
