Fair engineers span across all parts of the Fair business model with that common goal. Your team will build immersive, car shopping experiences across our cross-platform shopping journey.

Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering, you'll develop an already outstanding team of web, mobile, backend and machine learning engineering leaders. As a leader of this team, your focus would be on encouraging a high impact team to build an outstanding marketplace in the automotive FinTech space.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and own strategic technology decisions that balance near and long-term tradeoffs
  • Recruit and lead product engineering and platform engineering teams
  • Promote a culture of success, pride, creativity and improvement
  • Work together with product, design, analytics, and commercial leaders to understand user pain points and prioritize resources against solutions
  • Design scalable, secure, and reliable services that support cross-platform and immersive e-commerce experiences
  • Share your passion for engineering and provide software that customers love to use

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience with platform services, such as authentication, messaging, microservices, distributed applications, and AWS
  • Understanding of all kinds of requirements for enterprise scale in the areas of system performance, scalability, latency, reliability and security
  • Inspirational and collaborative leadership style, able to build high impact teams, bridges, and shrewd architectures
  • Experience hiring and managing multiple teams
  • Experience with delivery, paired with increasing responsibility in technical roles
  • BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experienced in building FinTech or e-commerce platforms
  • Experienced in delivering machine learning enabled user experiences
