GoGuardian is hiring a Senior Data & Infrastructure Engineer to work closely with cross functional teams to help us build and maintain big data systems known for their large scale, high performance, and rock-solid reliability. This is a very hands-on, dynamic opportunity that will require challenging system development and maintenance activities for GoGuardian’s cutting edge educational technology products.
Success Factors
- Build and maintain systems that leverage big data
- Contribute to creation of robust continuous integration and deployment pipeline for engineering
- Design our big data platform for scale, performance, and rock-solid reliability
- Manage deliverables against deadlines and milestones alongside engineering and product teams
- Effectively document and communicate results to the broader engineering team
- Stay up to date on current trends in web apps
- Flexibility in taking on other business duties as assigned
Your Background
- BS in in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
- Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience
- Mastery of writing super clean, error checking code in at least one of the following languages; Scala, Go/ Golang or JavaScript / Node.js
- Ability to effectively communicate and understand complex ideas across engineering teams
- Working knowledge of basic Unix commands & Git, or comparable VCS
- Experience using Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Docker in production, preferably with implementations at scale
- Experience working with Relational and Key-Value Databases
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code, configuration management, and build tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, etc.
- Flexible mindset to pitch in and do what’s needed to drive success
