Sales Engineers engage with prospective and existing customers to support Sales Reps and Account Managers in determining the appropriate solutions and strategies to maximize the impact and value of the NuORDER platform. Responsibilities include clarifying and evangelizing NuORDER’s features and capabilities, determining appropriate initiatives for a given customer, scoping and pricing engagements, and ultimately setting the internal Services team and customer up for success. Additionally, you will act as a change agent helping customers understand how their current wholesaling and B2B processes can be improved and the benefits of replacing their current tools with NuORDER. Your success will derive from your superior communication skills, technical solution expertise, customer centricity, high degree of organization, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced cross-functional team environment.


  • Understand B2B ecommerce, wholesale retailing, and merchandising principles and have the ability to articulate how the NuORDER solution facilitates best practices
  • Collaborate with sales and account management teams to thoroughly understand and document customers’ business goals and develop and propose solutions and engagements that will exceed expectations
  • Ability to challenge, recommend and redirect teams as well as manage client expectations ahead of engagements
  • Communicate business requirements and solutions based on in-depth knowledge of the core application and its capabilities
  • Map out technical feasibility, timelines, and cost estimates for Services engagements
  • Master advanced functionality of the NuORDER platform including end user features, administrator capabilities, API, and database integration 


  • At least 5 years of experience delivering enterprise-level consulting projects in customer facing go-to-market roles for sales, professional services or consulting teams within a software company
  • Experience supporting complex data driven business applications in a B2B environment with the ability to apply strategic thinking in the understanding of customer requirements
  • Track record of successfully closing deals in partnership with sales reps on large multi-faceted opportunities with global brands and enterprise customers
  • Well versed in sales and consulting process; pipeline management, demo prep, solution development, SOWs and contracts, staffing, project management, invoicing, and revenue generation
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate and achieve results through others who are not direct reports or work for external organizations
  • Hands on expertise with HTTP and foundational web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), APIs, Linux shell, and databases including data integration patterns and techniques (ETL)
  • Bonus points for familiarity with SAP, Netsuite, Microsoft Dynamics, and other industry leading ERP systems and experience with any of the following technologies: Go, Java, Node.js, React, Bigtable, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, AWS, Docker
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously across different time zones
  • Strong analytical thinker with expertise in Excel, Salesforce, G-suite, and Professional Services Automation ("PSA") tools
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • This role requires some travel to client locations when needed
  • This role is based in either Los Angeles or New York City
