NextVR delivers live events in virtual reality for devices like the GearVR, Oculus, Google Cardboard, etc. Our Core Services team is growing and we are looking to hire an REST API Engineer. This person will be responsible for designing and authoring API endpoint specification and data models. You will own the integrity of our data from end to end. This person will work closely with Backend Engineers to roll out new micro services for VR apps. You'll work alongside engineers and our QA team to ensure that your API specification and designs are well documented.

We are a team that moves quickly with 2-week sprints. The ideal candidate is someone who knows how to balance quickly adding value while at the same time managing technical debt to maintain long-term efficiency.

Job Description

• Translate business requirements into logical data models per today's modeling standards and industry best practices.
• Provide guidance to API and data model design and development.
• Define strategy in REST API Data Model, Data Integration, Architecture, Data Quality and Metadata Management
• Ensure data consistency on both production and analytical databases.Implement database design for RDBMS and NoSQL such as Mongodb.

Requirements

• 5+ years relevant experience
• Solid understanding of building RESTful APIs
• Knowledge of Mongodb scripting
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive data
• Expert in data integrity, performance, and consistency
• Ability to write efficient SQL queries and Mongodb Queries
• Some coding experience with programming language like C, Python and preferably Golang
• B.S. in Computer Science
