Proposal Board Engineer-2Company:The Boeing CompanyJob ID:00000276198Date Posted:2021-10-14-07:00Location:USA - Long Beach, CAJob Description Qualifications: The Boeing Global Services' team is looking for someone with a systems background/knowledge to join the Proposal Board Engineer (PBE) group in sunny Long Beach, California to support BGS-MODS retrofit proposal requests submitted from airline/leasing customers.This position reports directly to the Manager of Engineering Proposals supporting Interiors, Avionics, AP&S, and Connectivity product lines.Position Responsibilities:

• The Proposal Board Engineer is responsible to validate the technical content of the Description of Change (DOC) and development of a proposal estimate for the modification requests on all Boeing Commercial model airplanes.
• Duties and responsibilities include the development of a Statement of Work (SOW) containing engineering hours and flow time as well as material and parts requirements.
• Determine affected groups and supporting organizations, including engineering groups external to Mods.
• Define airplane starting configurations and system functionality while utilizing job classification and training to perform technical research to confirm DOC accuracy and aid in Statement of Work (SOW) development as well as identifying prerequisites that must be completed concurrently or before the customer requested change can be incorporated.
• In addition they develop preliminary risk assessments, determine/validate type change (major/minor) and identifying concurring E-UM/DER as appropriate to mitigate project risk. Classify each proposal with a project category as defined within BPI-2798 Safety Assessment Requirements for Post-Manufacturing Airplane Modifications of Commercial Operation.
• Provide analysis of projects, schedules and documented lessons learned for incorporation into future projects to increase proposal quality to capture and foster business growth. Coordinate with various design groups ensuring that proposals align reasonably with projected engineering resource constraints.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. • Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
• Desire for lifelong, continuous learning
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a diverse engineering team in a hybrid work environment.
• Ability and willingness to take ownership of work activities to ensure they are completed accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to expand into technical areas without prior experience
• Ability to work with multiple team functions and organizations
• 5 or more years of Engineering experience on Boeing Commercial Airplanes
• Experience with Boeing Global Services Modifications
• Experience with the BCA production system
• Boeing tools such as: REDARS, PDM, IVT , ENOVIA, Bridge, ACT

Typical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master).
