To help us achieve our goal, we are seeking a razor-sharp Platform Architect eager to make an impact within a mission-driven organization. The Platform Architect will help us come up with the architecture for the next generation of our flagship product NORA. You will provide technical leadership to a team of full stack engineers and help design and build a platform that is performant and scalable, while also creating an experience that has a direct impact on patient’s lives. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Drive the overall architectural strategy with hands-on leadership in ideation, architecture and implementation.
• Responsible for performance, availability, scalability and security across the platform.
• Work closely with key stakeholders to define the architecture vision and roadmap.
• Partner with other leaders across engineering to align and address longer term engineering goals and priorities.
• Demonstrate your technical abilities and contribute to our overall architecture and code.
• Understand the market and our end customers.
• Foster and maintain a work environment that supports being kind, useful, and awesome. 

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• BS in Computer Science
• 10+ years of progressive, enterprise software development experience
• Strong leadership and professional skills, including ability to effectively communicate with and motivate large teams of employees.
• Medical and scientific knowledge strongly preferred.
• Highly proficient in computing and technology skills.

Skills/Competencies

• Experience designing and building Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), high availability, scalable web services.
• You hold yourself and others to high technical standards in design, architecture, and implementation.
• Strong bias towards action with a high cadence of delivering results.
• You look for opportunities to simplify the solutions.
• Passion for developing robust software architecture and writing maintainable quality code.
• Experience building micro-services.
• Demonstrated experience designing large scale, SaaS platforms.
• Experience with software architecture methodologies and processes.
• Ability to articulate architectural decisions and roadmaps.
• Excellent technical understanding and experience with technologies commonly used in cloud based systems (REST, JavaScript, JSON, etc.)
• Experience with cloud platform providers such as Amazon Web Services.
• Deep understanding of scalable computing systems, software architecture, data structures and algorithms.
• Strong personal drive to want to be a great leader, coach and teammate. 
• Strong desire to make a concrete impact in improving the lives of patients.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• A passion to stay current with new technologies and engineering concepts.
